Week 7

A huge thank you to The Warehouse and Ritchies Transport for the chance for us to visit Auckland Zoo this week. The 18 students who came along, and 3 parents, were fantastic.  We learnt so much about our own native animals and of course had fun along the way.  Laura, our Zoo educator, had some great tasks for us, especially the animal footprint identification task we had to do in the dark after dinner.  Our night walk was exciting, viewing the animals in their downtime - sleepy red pandas, hungry hippos, lazy cheetahs.  It was all very interesting.  And, all students were sound asleep, tucked up in the Old Elephant House by 10pm!
Well done everyone, a great trip. I hope you gained a lot of new information and ideas about zoos.
